2009 Louisiana State Champion Jesuit Mock Trial Team
Jays Win State Championship & Finish 7th In Nation !!!
May 11, 2009 The Jesuit High School Mock Trial Team competed this past weekend in the National High School Mock Trial Championship, which was held in Atlanta, Georgia. The Jays lost only their first round (on a split decision), and finished 7th in a field that included more than 40 State Champions. It was the best finish ever for Louisiana, besting the 11th place finish (by Jesuit) in 2006. The Jays will miss senior Andres Begue, and his excellent closing arguments, but the entire team is excited about next year. Will 2010 be the year that Louisiana wins a National Championship?
The Jays were coached this year by Head Coach Brett Wise (Liskow & Lewis), Michael Mentz (Hailey McNamara) and Harold Flanagan (Flanagan & Flanagan).
