Jays Fall To McGehee's In Region I Mock Trial Finals
February 18, 2008 The Jesuit High School Mock Trial Team competed in the Region I Tournament on Saturday, February 16, at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. Twelve local teams competed in the competition this year, which is the strongest field since Katrina. After only two rounds, two teams advanced to the Finals: the Jesuit White Team and McGehee's First Team. The Jays saved their best round for last, and Jesuit sophmore Alex Cerrone was selected the Best Lawyer in The Final Round, but the more experienced McGehee's team prevailed. The Jesuit White team, which consisted entirely of underclassmen, were disappointed, but they are looking forward to next year's competition.
